Time to Riot! Free Pussy Riot Solidarity Track (free download)

This song is dedicated to alleged Pussy Riot members Maria Alekhina, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Ekaterina Samucevich, currently in jail awaiting trial on charges of public disorder. If convicted, they face up to 7 years imprisonment. Two of the women have been separated from their young children since March 2012.

Since 2011, the anonymous feminist band Pussy Riot have been making punk a threat again, performing illegal shows in public spaces and speaking out against Putin’s neoliberal regime and the merging of the state with the Russian Orthodox Church. The arrests came after a performance of the punk prayer ‘Virgin Mary, Send Putin Away’ at the altar of the Christ the Savior Cathedral in Moscow.

This case is just one example of the current state repression in Russia.
